How high are ppl mounting their 48-V2s for their 4’ 120 gallons?

Going to go with a hanging option. SPS/LPS new build.

I was thinking about 12” from what I can read but I haven’t seen any direct recommendations.

Most of the stock reccomens are 12in. But I’d wager it’s higher.

To get a really nice coverage I reccomend doing this.

Mark out an area the size of the tank. Try to fill the area best you can. Just inside the area is best , but honestly if it looks ugly or spills so much light into the room its crazy , Lower is fine.

That’s a great idea. I just received the aquarium and it came with the 4’x2’ matting.

I’ll try this before I setup the tank and mount the lights.

I haven’t seen it setup before. If the spread is too far over the edge of the tank how does the bleed over look in the room?

Some hate it some don’t mind and it depends where in the room it is.
Some opt for a floating canopy to catch the spill.

I have a 55g that is 4’ length and 24” high. I have my Photon V2 mounted with the mounting legs about 12” above water height. No issues with disco effect. And minor spillage, but doesn’t bother me. Enjoy your new light [emoji846]

Anyone using the included hanging kit? Not sure how adjustable it is once setup.
