I'm shopping around for a skimmer for a 50 gallon mostly LPS and zoa frag tank with 20 gallon sump. The RO eSsence S-130 is rated for up to 160 gallons. Will this skimmer be too big for my system? I can feed reef roids and RS AB+ frequently if needed. If it's too big, I can drop down to the Classic 110 - 4"' or 5" but I like the design and features of this model.

Thanks! I ended up getting it, but I haven't gotten around to hooking it up yet.

I run a #reefoctopus Essence S-130 on a 75g - I think the 130 will be fine for your tank based on your bio-load. I really like the small footprint - it lets me add the 130 and a RO LR-150 light reactor to the main sump compartment.

Creating a strong bulwark: Did you consider floor support for your reef tank?
