Reef-pi at aquashella

Im thinking about raffle setup in the booth. As of now, I have a few viparspectra adapters, one set of reef-volt doser +controller, one robotank controller. I am planning to throw in one pi zero and another pi 3A based hand made controller and some other goodies (pre wired ds18b20 sensors, 3d printed housings, dosers etc).
With that in mind, I'm thinking how to do the raffle. I have taken part in raffle in past, but never conducted one. Looking for some advice here.
- Should I keep so many things for raffle? or just reduce it to 3 or 4 items only
- We wont be selling anything in reef-pi (except of course the idea ) . Its a charity/brand booth and not a vendor booth. Which mean we have to give away raffle tickets for free. How should I manage it? If the raffle tickets are free i worry too many folks will take the ticket but may not return to receive the item (if selected) and just simply reduce the chance for others. Given we cant sell raffle tickets (and use money as a constrain), should i do something else to make sure only interested folks get the raffle
- For each item, i should have a jar or some container where tickets will be dropped? or use some form of online thingy?

Don't have experience, but raffle pools per item at least mean people get something they are interested in.

Since Reef-Pi is all about community involvement, maybe you can enter with GitHub Stars or posts to the forum

I would do a jar for each item as well. Maybe a sign saying only enter if generally interested but that might be too forward. With giveaways I always worry someone who wins won't even use whatever it is. Instead of tickets maybe have some labels they can write their name and phone number so if first pick doesn't come forward you can draw again, maybe they do that anyways though.

Yeah exactly. Back in the day we did giveaways for two-way radios, half the people entering were not people who would be using two-way radios ahhhh lol...

This is ideal of course, but I also wouldn't lose sleep over it if not the case. Can always check eBay if one of the items shows up, which is basically like free marketing

Thinking about these pi zero housing and dc motor based dozers. I’ll carry these and see if anyone is interested,

these dosing system are simple , 12v dc motor based. Some are using kamoer, others gikfun. They have an on board switch for manual override

pizero case are as their name suggest , simple with two mounting holes for 3.5mm Audio connector . These can be used for ato sensor, temperature sensor etc .

@robsworld78 was gracious enough to donate Robo tank kit. Here’s his word describing these units:
“The blue case has six sensor ports and two 12v-24v DC ports. It can be connected to GPIO's on a Pi.

The black case has six 12v-24v DC ports and two sensor ports. It can also connect to GPIO's on a Pi.

The silver case is a pH circuit that connects to I2C and uses EZO driver.

Everything else including all cables is the full controller kit but it does require a Pi and microSD card. The case is for a zero type but if whoever gets it has a Pi 3/4 they can print a case for it”

Another thing I was thinking, instead of a giveaway for everything maybe just give random people you meet something, this way you've talked with them and know they will put it to use in some manner.

-controller , power bar , lighting/dc module, sensor module
I’m unsure of the two other modules and the ph module , if I should group then or keep them independent unit or combine with the main set .
thoughts ?

Looks good.

Yeah the white cases all go together with the miscellaneous cables.

The other 3 modules can be independent, each of them can connect directly to a Pi so you can do separate giveaways for them.

There are some awesome aquascaping displays . My opposite booth is from oase, and they have put out some stunning freshwater and one saltwater tank

I have watched a lot of similar scape in YouTube , but seeing them in real is whole different experience. The depth perception is just amazing in these tanks

Love these micro reefs. I think these will be pretty hard to maintain in the long run , but they look super duper cute .

I wonder if the lights are controllable . Ato and temp control will be criticism. I’m seriously thinking of getting one and just see how it goes .. specially the tend in ato , temp , pH charts etc
