220 gallon started around four years ago as a fowlr. Last year I decided to tear down my 120 gallon reef and move some of the corals to the 220 in October of 2019. Kept the Regal and two Queen angels, I thought because I had them since they were less then an inch big and haven’t seen coral in years or if ever they’d be okay Nope all the angels had to go. They did some damage but everything seems to be recovering nicely. Also ran copper for the first year in this tank with the same live rock, corals seem to be unaffected by it. I will post a build thread once I figure out how to do that, happy reefing

INNOVATIVE MARINE NUVO FUSION 10 GALLON (my first reef!)
This tank is currently about to be 8 months old. It's had its fair share of ups and downs, but overall, it's coming along!
My goal is just to achieve stability, and keep stocking corals from there. I plan on adding an Aussie Gold Torch, Rainbow Chalice, growing a Zoa Garden, and more rainbow acans!

Some notable corals in the tank are the GSC Fang Banger Zoas (Like Sonic Flares or Vamps but stronger yellows), Red Roses Monti Cap, Beach Bum Monti (currently working on coloring it up), and Dragonfruit Monti. It's very much a work in progress so I don't expect to make it onto the 365 but I'm proud of the work I've done and overcoming the massive learning curve of this rewarding hobby! :)

Thank you everyone for all the submissions! Just a reminder that you MUST HAVE A BUILD THREAD to be eligible.
Don't have one or know how to start one?
Visit our Member Tanks forum and get one started today.
A build thread is basically a journal for your tank. You can share photos, details of inhabitants, equipment ect...

How often does some one get picked? 1 a week 1 a day 1 a month?
Good question. I know @Crabs McJones gets these posted as often as possible. Everyone's schedules are a bit crazy right now.
Its suppose to be one a day and I do apologize. Life is extremely hectic right now. I'm going to try to consistently get this done every day.

Just do them as you can, buddy. It's all about priorities right now. No stress. :)

Hello Reef2Reef'ers!

Let me preface this post by saying that your tank doesn't have to be packed full of mature sps coral colonies and have the best gear to be included, or even have coral at all (FOWLR are welcome!). But we will need a decent photo. :)

We want to start a new series of threads where we feature a Reef Tank from one of our members. It will be a simple bit of info and photo of your tank with link to your build thread. If you're interested then please share a full tank shot that you're proud of along with the following data.

  • Full Photo
  • Tank Size
  • Date Started
  • Link to R2R build thread
All of these are required or your tank cannot be featured.

And that's it!

If we use your tank then your tank will receive recognition and you will receive a spiffy new "Reef Tank 365" badge under your name!
And don't forget to subscribe to the hashtag #ReefTank365 to view the pick of the day.

It’s almost been a year since I set up my tank; March 10th, 2019 is the actual anniversary. However, I can’t wait to post the pictures. I took a lot of advice from some of the members, so I wanted to share it with you.

Tank is 200 Gallons
  • Two pumps
  • Filter in hanging on the back of the tank (don’t recall the make, but drain is the size of a freaking stove pipe)
  • Tank seeded with both purple and coralline algae
  • 4 led lights, but will upgrade soon to a hybrid system with 4 T5 bulbs
  • Heater 300 gallon

Filter is in my office
  • Water is run through the wall in 1 1/2” PVC pipe
  • 55 gallon refugee
  • Ceramic balls, and squares (Just Cause)
  • Ocean mud
  • Crushed coral (med)
  • Protein skimmer for 300 gallon tank (Octo)
Started March 10th, 2019
The picture titled final appearance was taken sometime near the initial setup date, but gives you an idea of the progress
