This is our 90gallong cube (36 x 24 x 24) with 10 gallon sump.
We run Aqua 40 W sterilizer fed with Sicce pump (I don't remember size).
Center refuge with Kessil 360 grow light
Return pump is Varios 6
Protein skimmer is Octos Regal 150ss

Our water volume is just a hair over 80g after rock displacement.
Two Octo Pulse 2 wavemakers complete the tank.
2 cobalt 150 W heaters on system that send text warnings of temp

Balling system using 4 pump Kamaor F4 Pro with Reeflower Alk, Ca2+, Mg, and trace elements with 1.5L acrylic reservoir for each.

It was started in February (finished cycle and started to stock).
We lost fish due to a bacterial infection: KIA where 2 Belus angel (male/female), midas blenny, 3 clownfish, Mandarin goby. Really taught us a big lesson. We quarantine much better and added UV light immediately thereafter. No fish added since.

Sump pics to be added at some point.

It’s almost been a year since I set up my tank; March 10th, 2019 is the actual anniversary. However, I can’t wait to post the pictures. I took a lot of advice from some of the members, so I wanted to share it with you.

Tank is 200 Gallons
  • Two pumps
  • Filter in hanging on the back of the tank (don’t recall the make, but drain is the size of a freaking stove pipe)
  • Tank seeded with both purple and coralline algae
  • 4 led lights, but will upgrade soon to a hybrid system with 4 T5 bulbs
  • Heater 300 gallon

Filter is in my office
  • Water is run through the wall in 1 1/2” PVC pipe
  • 55 gallon refugee
  • Ceramic balls, and squares (Just Cause)
  • Ocean mud
  • Crushed coral (med)
  • Protein skimmer for 300 gallon tank (Octo)
Started March 10th, 2019
The picture titled final appearance was taken sometime near the initial setup date, but gives you an idea of the progress

I’m not sure if I’m eligible, and I would rather a member get the badge over me. But I’m just happy I can finally look at my tank and enjoy it without being anxious or thinking I need to do something. The lights are set, ATO and dosers full, wiring tacked up, filter sock clean, glass clean. Has not been that way since I joined.

My 180 build is linked in my signature.

Here is my latest edition. This tank has been on a journey. First it started out as FW in May 2019, then saltwater FOWLR, back to FW, and now it is the reef tank it should have been all along.

Here is my build thread. This is a Waterbox 230.6. The current iteration got wet last Thursday April 23, 2020, and was an upgrade from my 75g tank..

Hello Reef2Reef'ers!

Let me preface this post by saying that your tank doesn't have to be packed full of mature sps coral colonies and have the best gear to be included, or even have coral at all (FOWLR are welcome!). But we will need a decent photo. :)

We want to start a new series of threads where we feature a Reef Tank from one of our members. It will be a simple bit of info and photo of your tank with link to your build thread. If you're interested then please share a full tank shot that you're proud of along with the following data.

  • Full Photo
  • Tank Size
  • Date Started
  • Link to R2R build thread
All of these are required or your tank cannot be featured.

And that's it!

If we use your tank then your tank will receive recognition and you will receive a spiffy new "Reef Tank 365" badge under your name!
And don't forget to subscribe to the hashtag #ReefTank365 to view the pick of the day.

Awesome reef man! You don't have to have a full build thread from start until now! Just start one now to start keeping the progress! Then hit me up with the link so I can see it! HA!
