She freehanded it. She’s the artist in the family. For only being 12 she has some amazing stuff.

Normally I sketch or give an idea of what I want then dad does the carving and I mean I come up with it I don’t look online

Same but I do the carving. I stencil it on the pumpkin first then check to make sure it will hold without additional support. Then I start to carve.

I’m the artist in my family and am really good with knive just not craving because the knife always slips then I get upset cause I messed it up

I love natural things that can also be used for a decoration like we have a spider outside our house that spins really big webs so we don’t have to put up fake spider webs

Have never carved a pumpkin before, but might do for this (especially since the father in law brought one over with him). Would have to look at who your sponsors are though to work out where to get it from. Although the vouchers are in dollars, I assume that your sponsors won't get picky and they'll still be usable outside the US?

Let's make it as simple and fair as possible!

RULES:

1. Carving must be yours.

2. Carving must be newly carved (this year) and be reef aquarium themed.

3. You must post a photo of your pumpkin carving in this thread and it must include something with your R2R user name written on it. (see example)

4. You may enter up to 3 pumpkins.

PRIZE:

We will have 2 prizes. One prize will be given away via random draw from everyone who participates in the contest. The Grand Prize will be the best carved "reef themed" pumpkin chosen by the Reef2Reef Staff. So you don't have the winning pumpkin to win a prize. Just participate!

Random Prize will be a $100 Gift Certificate to any Reef2Reef Sponsor you choose.

GRAND PRIZE will be a $500 Gift Certificate to any Reef2Reef Sponsor you choose.

Was finally able to take pictures of my pumpkins, but as all things go I took too long and both have started rotting ;Facepalm I really hope that they aren't too dark. I only had time to carve two, I may be able to do one more before the month ends though.

Number one is a frogfish perched inside of the pumpkin, I had a blast with this one. It's head almost fell off so I had to prop it up in the pictures with a stick.

The second pumpkin is supposed to be a cannonball jellyfish, it melted a bit since I carved it but it looks just about the same.

I'm excited to see the rest of the competition, and may the best gourd win! God bless.
