i run a high iodine level to help the corals from getting scorched it allows me to pump in alot more light with less negative effects

It was a twist on the coral lab settings but i tweaked them to my required intensity and i found there daytime photo period too white so dialled the whites back and focused more on viewing the colours of an evening when i'm home from work and get to enjoy it

Awesome. I run the coral lab AB+ schedule with my lights 13” from the water line and I feel like it may be too intense, so I was wondering about your settings. Did you used to run the AB+ schedule (ie ch 3,5,6 at “100%” and Ch 1,2,4 at 25% of the values for Ch 3/5/6? And when you switched to your current settings did you notice improvement?

Ian I've got to ask you how
Long has it taken you to build up such an impressive tank and do you think that you are finally going to be happy with this one ??

Today we are featuring Ian R's fantastic SPS dominant reef tank. Ian is based in the UK and is currently running 2 x Photon 50-V2 and 2 x Photon 24-V2. The tank measures 6 feet long by 2.5 feet front to back and 2 feet tall, and is about 220gallons in volume.

Ian noted that he worked up to his current lighting schedule over a 4 week period, and runs a high iodine system. In addition to the main display there is an attached sump and 3 tier frag system.

Ian's full lighting schedule is in the photo gallery below. Thank you again for sharing!

I run these lights about 9-10 inches above water level and can't even increase to 70% on ch3,5,6 or it will burn my corals. Im safe @60% on3,5,6 and 10% on ch1,2,4. This high iodine method, what are you using and how much?

Beautiful reef!!! Great work! I'm interested in the nutrient levels as well. Also, what is the fish load in this tank/system? I see a few wrasse, but can't spot many more, which I'm sure are hiding in all of those amazing corals! What fish do you have? Again, awesome reef tank!

You can see more of the fish in the video.
Think it’s a Scopas, Powder Brown, few Chromis, and Clownfish in there too.
