I didn’t put it in my build thread. I think I have some picture I could private message you
@Crabby48 well I can't find the guy that turned me on to those 24VDC to 5VDC transformers to light the Top Lids' fiber optic moonlight. A question though: are these fiber optic in the lids very bright? Enough to replace standard moonlights? I would love to see your pictures.

@BeMoto I have some Pukani dryrock laying around from before I tore this tank down that I'll start curing after I make some room in the ranch shop. Definitely going to add some maricultured liverock from TBS or KP Aquatics to this. Don't know when tank will have water.

Nice! That should work out perfectly for you

@Crabby48 I will have to get ahold of Top Lids but I can swear someone here introduced me to that transformer because the lid uses a 5V DC USB connection to power the light stepping down from an EB832’s 24V accessory port so the energy bar can switch it off and on. And that what this doohickey is supposed to do.

Enough of the solderless soldering connectors!!! I’m going to crimp on spade terminals for screw down bus bars. It’s not as good as a solid solder job but I don’t have the skills and I’m also missing a few items for soldering.

Okay here’s the low down on the crimp-on screw down terminals. 24V power comes out of the EB832 and goes into the transformer. 12V power comes out of the transformer into the fused bus bar. A DC cord jack goes out of the bus bar and into the cabinet LEDs. Let’s see if this works.

At first this didn’t work so a shout-out to TheHarold and SuncrestReef wasn’t necessary but I found the problem before anyone responded. While I was shifting things around when connecting everything one of the bare wires going into a spade terminal wasn’t crimped properly and came completely out. Got it fixed and lights are running. Plan to run a fan, LEDs, and electrical lock all off the bus bar.

Adding a bus bar with fuses for accessories in the IKEA cabinet is pictured top left with cover beside. Top right transformer takes voltage from 24VDC to 12VDC. Bottom transformer takes voltage from 12VDC to 5VDC. This 5V is a USB cable to power a Safe Top Lids tank cover with lighted fiber optic cord built into the lid.

Transformer for Safe Top Lids is labeled incorrect. 24v to 5v not 12v to 5v.

@Maokin is the guy that turned me onto the transformer to light Top Lids fiber optic moonlight with EB832's 24v accessory port.

Connected one of my Icecap gyres to the WiFi controller. It was going good and I was configuring and setting it up then it just died. When I cut the power and reconnect it runs for a few seconds then dies again. I have a ticket with Coralvue.

WOW Biota prices are just insane! they have zoas at $145 Per polyp.... seriusly? Zoas are the weeds of the ocean...
That pricing is just on the JF bloodshot zoanthids which tend to fluctuate between $120-160pp but we have standard zoa frags at much lower pricing.

@Biota_Marine OMG the Jason Fox Bloodshot is an insane awesome zoanthid!!!!

I love the fact that you have CB Royal Grammas. Can they be paired in a 75 GAL system?

I have 9 probes running on my Apex.
  1. C170_t = temperature probe taking ambient air temperature in the RS 170 electronics cabinet to regulate the temperature with a fan.
  2. C250_t = temperature probe taking ambient air temperature in the display tank’s cabinet to regulate the temperature with a fan.
  3. iKEA_t = temperature probe taking ambient air temperature in the IKEA cabinet to regulate the temperature with a fan.
  4. SUMP_o = ORP probe in the sump to monitor ORP in the water there.
  5. SUMP_p = pH probe in the sump to monitor pH in the water there.
  6. SUMP_s = conductivity probe in the sump to monitor conductivity in the water there.
  7. SUMP_t = temperature probe in the sump to regulate temperature in the system’s water with heaters.
  8. WCMS_s = conductivity probe in the water change and mixing station to monitor conductivity in the W/C vessel’s water there.
  9. WCMS_t = temperature probe in the water change and mixing station to regulate the W/C vessel’s water with heaters.

Love your thread! I'm setting up my Reefer 250 too and trying to go all/mostly captive bred fish and coral. I'll be following along!
@ScubaEthan thanks for the comment and sub!! Reefer 250s are great tanks. Will you have a build thread? Yeah captive bred fish and corals are much hardier and acclimate much better. Glad you'll be getting some.
