Hello all! I purchased my tank and some equipment recently. I was lurking at that point in many subs like, Reddit, HERE!!, YouTube, and the Nano-Reef Community. I have a sentimental fondness of growing up in Florida. We spent summers in the Keys and I learned to dive in my teens. I now live in the Mid-West and figured why not go for it! I have friends that have Nano tanks and have encouraged me as well. I plan on placing it in my office so I have something peaceful to look at during work. My current lineup is:

Reefer Deluxe 170 System (non Max E)
ReefWave 25 Pump
125W Eheim JAGER Aquarium Heater X2 for redundancy
4 Stage Value 75GPD RO/DI
Reef Octopus VarioS-2 DC Pump X2 for redundancy and for return/UV
25ft (7.5m) No Spill Clean & Fill - Python
Reef Octopus eSsence S-130 Internal Protein Skimmer
Apex Controller System
LDK Leak Detection Kit with additional Solid Surface Probe
Coral Pro Salt Mix 160 Gallon Box
40 lb. Fiji Pink Arag-Alive
Pentair Aquatics Smart UV Sterilizer 18 Watt
4oz FRITZ-Zyme RapidCycle Aquarium Cycle Kit - AlgaeBarn
Red Sea Felt 225 Micron Filter Bags X10
BRS GFO & Carbon Reactor Deluxe

Anyway, if you read any of this and want to suggest equipment I would be grateful, otherwise I’m happy to be part of the group officially and not lurking!

The Red Sea slide-out panel looks pretty slick, but I haven't tried it myself. For heaters get the BRS titanium/Inkbird combo size for your tank (these are white-boxed German Schego heaters).

Red Sea is also rolling out (couldn't resist) their new ReefMat fleece roller, which might be worth the investment.

I looked at those fleece rollers and it looks awful big for the limited sump space I have.

Things are starting to come in which is always fun. My wife rolled her eyes but it's going in my office so it's all good. Tank should be here in the next week or two but I still have things I am looking into before I put sand in.

I’m going to follow your journey! I’m planning for the same tank and equipment. Have you read if the sicce will fit without an adapter?

Honestly, this "IS" my first rodeo. I had no idea that I needed an adapter until you just mentioned it. That's why I'm glad I joined, it's things like this. Please drop some links on me as it's most appreciated!

Starting the plumbing and configuring of wires. I ordered a cabinet from Ikea that comes tomorrow to house electronics. I have also been 3D printing for the past 5 years and printing ease of life upgrades. I plan on mounting an iPad mini I I inherited when I bought my kids new iPads this year. I am making a custom housing I can have Apex Fusion on 24/7 attached to my Ikea cabinet. I'm literally in the room all day for work but I like gadgets and it's more of "can I" than needed, how can I take something and completely redo it and be successful. Anyway, here are some pics...

I ordered 35 pounds of Marco Rock hunks. I got a box with some bulbous rocks. I broke them all up with a hammer and chisel. I obsessed about the process but overall it was fun. Once I had a bunch of little pieces I used baking soda and CA glue to build a scape I liked thanks too, "Two Gay Reefers" and this video:

Overall, I am happy with this build for now.

So, I plan to build a 2X4 structure the same height of this IKEA cabinet this weekend. I'm thinking of some type of water barrier I can mount the numerous AC supply's underneath. Regardless, I plan to turn this into a refugium with some mangroves hanging out of the sides at some point.
