So, i have made my decision for the new tank build. I will be doing this in stages as life is extremely busy with work right now! ( Which is good!)

The "bones" of the build, so to speak, will be the Reefer XL 300 G2 system from Red Sea. ( 65 gallons )

First piece of the puzzle will be picking out the return pump.

I am going to be using Ai Hydra's for the lighting as well as two Nero's for flow.

I would like a decent flow if i can from my return, I am looking at the vectras, but not sure which one will be perfect for this tank!

Any suggestions?

I have the XL300 and went with Vectra M2 which only needs 45% to run the tank. I went with all ecotech components so everything is on one app for ease of use.

@Lavey29

Which lights did you go with? I currently have a extra nero sitting around, but i am not against going all ecotech.

If you don't mind letting me know which pieces you got and how many that would be great!

Tank is ordered now just picking out the equipment.

2 radion XR15 lights work perfectly for mixed reef tank. I use the AB plus setting at 70% intensity. I also have 2 MP40s which run from 28 to 40% in lagoon mode. I just like having everything accessible with one app and I can easily program everything to work in sync.

What's nice about the vectra M2 is you only need to run it at 45% so last longer over time.

Did you know you can link AI products in Mobius now? So you can indeed have your Hydras, Neros and vectra on the same app.

If you are asking just about the M2 return pump then 45% is 900hph on paper but with head pressure I'm guessing it's 700gph. I have been running this setting for more then 2.5 years now with no issues. Now if I add my MP40s gph at 26% then my total tank turnover is like 30x.

I’ll be running a 25 watt uv directly from return trying to kill parasites
