Hi All,

I have a Reefer 350 with a v3 sump. The v3 is the sump with the return and overflow pipes in the front right section.
Currently I have filter socks, a refugium with chaeto and bioblocks, a skimmer, and a return pump.

I am considering putting a ReefMat 500 in the sump, and there seem to be two options.

With Option 1 you remove the filter sock holders... and the RedSea website states that you can still have a refugium.

Does anyone know how that is possible? Where do you put the refugium... just place chaeto in the main sump area?

Any suggestions are welcome

Option 2 is my preference (retain the in-sump RO reservoir). The only place you could run the refugium in either setup is the first chamber (after the filter sock chamber).

Mine isn’t wet yet but I have the 500 in the exact same setup as yours (350 V3)

im not sure how you’d run the refugium in there. I don’t think there is any room for me to put the refugium wall back in behind the Reefmat. I could be wrong, I’ll look later
