Reefstache-
any chance you can get the internal measurements of the 1800 stand? wondering if there is enough room for an acrylic tray for sump to sit in. for small spills/leaks etc.

In mine there’s a small 1/4” gap around the sump leaving enough room for possibly a tray under the sump. It’s a heavy sump and installed already in the stand so you’ll need help to lift it.

Found one of the 5 yellow tangs busted up and breathing heavy from being bullied. Was able to catch him and added to an in tank holding container. Unfortunately he passed a few hrs later. :( RIP Yellow #5

We started with 10 yellows over a year ago and are now down to 4 along with a Blue tang.

man love this build! almost got the same tank. but is did not come in white. after going a different way, found out they are making them in white. sigh...

anyway i am loving the corner stone branch rock. I know you said you used 3of 4 boxes but what does one 32# box look like? I have 2 tanks I am very seriously thinking about using for.

Yeah the white CADEs just came out on preorder. My next build will be a 1200 shallow frag in white.

Thanks for the kind words. I received 4 boxes of cornerstone reef rocks, 3 were branch and one was mixed. Did you catch this vid?

I believe it depends on who you buy it from.

In the process of removing the Lyretail Damsels. I added 6 of them over 6 months ago. They were great with their tail streamers and added lots of movement to the tank. Unfortunately like most damsels they have gone rogue. They have killed my Baun’s Gobies, Link’s Gobies and most recently one of the Square Pink Anthias.

It’s time to go. I have caught 4 of the 6 and working on the rest with this fish trap from Tank Matez. This trap is also available by Nyos which is a R2R sponsor.

Best of luck on getting rid of the damsels, sorry that they went rogue in your tank.

I brought in a cleaner crew refresh and they are helping me get this algae under control. Corals are looking nice and fluffy. Just trying to get things back in balance after overfeeding the tank the last month dealing with damsels. I caught 3 of the 6 using the fish trap and the last 3 are not falling for it. I Will most likely need to take the rock and coral out. :(

Yes, it’s a non-photosynthetic coral. I placed it in an area of the tank that I can just pour live phyto in daily right over it through one of the lid openings.

Getting the algae under control and tank is looking great. Found bryopsis in the tank and raised the Magnesium to up over 1600 this last week and it’s starting to wilt away.

Enjoying the fish room and looking forward to the frag tank build once my capacity frees up. Have a lot going on right now but I’m also in no hurry. I much prefer taking my time on builds and getting things the way I want them versus rushing through it just to get the tank wet.
Here are some evening shots…

It’s not always easy coasting in reefing. Currently I’m fighting off some turf algae and bryopsis. I’m on day 4 of dosing a half dose of ReefFlux fluconazole treatment and bryopsis is starting to deteriorate. You can see the white tips on the bryopsis algae. We’ll see if that turf algae takes a hit as well. #bryopsis
