I learned that Ocean Rescue Alliance's Coral Lock System substantially increases the efficiency of coral out planting and provides a safer growth process for the coral.

July 23 I learned that the Florida reef track is the only US barrier reef, also never knew that stretched as far as it did.

July 23 entry - I didn't know how incredibly involved ORA is in the restoration of Florida's reefs. Their mermaid sculptures are super cool too!

July 23. I learned from The Reef Institute that The Florida Reef Tract is 365 miles long, running from Dry Tortugas National Park off the coast of the Key West, north to Martin County.

Completed challenge #16.

I saw documentary about the world's reefs being in trouble, but didn't know the Florida coral reefs only have a 3- 5% survival rate. Pretty grim.
