I have a Evo all in one 13.5 gallon tank. I wanted to see if anyone has modified one or something similar to have a refuge. I have nitrates that sit around 20ppm all the time now matter what I do. I am kicking around idea of have a smaller tank as a refuge for the main tank but wanted to see some peoples ideas and set ups.

You could look into something like the ALR 1. You could install the pump in one of the chambers on the evo

I am just setting up the EVO 13.5 myself and used the InTank Chamber 2 as a refugium. (Chamber 1 has the InTank insert as well that holds my chemical, mechanical and bio media.

I have about a cup of chaeto in there now and an affordable amazon light () that is running about 5 hours per night. I'll increase the light period as I add more to the tank but I do see an overnight reduction of nitrates..

If you're on Instagram, there's a guy by the name of @savage_reefer and he has an awesome Evo setup. He plumbed a frag tank below the display tank, very slick setup. Might be good inspiration for plumbing in a fuge.
