what is the best size vinyl tubing to replace a garden hose with?
So using some hose y valves and some sort of merger the water source for my rodi is piggybacking off my washer machine taps

originally I was using a garden hose to connect it to this:

For some reason I got it into my head to replace the hose with vinyl tubing. The tubing had an iner diameter of 5/8”. I don’t know the outer diameter because the tube doesn’t say that and it also immediately expanded under the pressure. It held, but a month Or so later, today it burst causing a rather messy flood. Is there a proper way to do this ? Or is it completely unnecessary, and I should just go back to a garden hose?

Are you combining hot and cold? When I use a garden faucet or washer supply I use one of these off the cold line and that's it.

I would just use a RV hose and replace the metal ends with plastic

Do you have a Laundry Sink? I replaced the Service Valve under the sink with a Double Valve. Drilled the Sink Faucet tray, installed a quarter turn Washing Machine Valve. Made my Connection from the service valve to the Washer valve with a SS Braided flexible riser hose. It’s posted on here somewhere.

If only cold take off your y pipe and the y connection on the hot hook hot back to the faucet. Hook to your cold y and done.

1/2" should do it then the pex pipe will last a long time they have red and blue for hot and cold now. So, you could run both.

They have the slip fit fitting or you can buy the crimpers and rings I think they both do a fine job.
