late getting started here, but what the heck, about two months ago, I purchased a used, shut down, Red Sea Reefer 250 system. I most recently had a 180g setup that we sold some years ago and I was lucky enough for my wife to pressure me into diving back in and buying this reefer 250 to get back into the game. Since setting up this new system, I have really became fond of the Red Sea tanks. I will post some specs for you and try to get some progress photos posted. We live in the wonderful world of Western KY, where the nearest LFS is at least an hour away and I think there is one other person in my town with a reef tank. So most people around here think I'm nuts. and some of you may know exactly what I'm talking about. Anyway, here is what Ive got going so far, and I welcome any advice/feedback anyone may have!

Red Sea Reefer 250/Black cabinet
Stock Glass sump
Ocean Revive T247 LED lights x2 (Currently hanging from the ceiling which I hate and want to construct an 80/20 mount)
Reef Octopus 110 internal skimmer
Jebao DC4000 Return
Ecotech Vortech MP10 x2
BRS small carbon/GFO reactor
Clearwater scrubbers ATS
Apex controller- apex autofeeder, LSM module with 2 moonlights, leak detection module, PM2 salinity module, Breakout box,
Hydor ATO
Dual Eheim Heaters
BRS dosing pumps for Calcium and Alkalinity
BRS 75 GPR RO/DI system with booster pump. mounted in the laundry room. I have a remote ATO container hidden in there that is plumbed through the floor to the sump.

I plan to have Mostly SPS once everything settles in, however there are a few frags in the tank that are doing well, some zoas, acans, frogspawn, red monti, RBTA, pair of clowns, royal gramma, yellow tang.....

Photos not opening. I have an older 250 redsea reefer. It has the hood. Which I love. It is a beautiful tank. I bought a 140 gallon tank to replace it. But I could not part with it. So now I have them side by side. What a nice wall it makes. :p

@dodger745 how about an update?

Things are going well!! I will attempt pictures/video upload later today. I got out in front of the Dino bloom, and added a major coral haul a couple weeks ago. Very happy overall with how my system is performing with minimal maintenance needed!

How did you get the MP10's to stay on the back wall like that. I've tried and it seems the glass is too thick for the mp10 on the back.
