Hi all
I was recently given this shroom and I'm blown away by its pattern and colors.
Received it as a floating eraser head in a pee cup unattached. Once it attached and got happy it grew fast then split all within 6/7 weeks. Is this unique? Rare? What kind of Rhodactis is it? Can I name it? Lol

I’ve seen this color morph called a ‘forest fire’ rhodactis, not very rare or valuable (I’ve seen them for anywhere from $15 to $75). You can name any coral anything you want, these are just marketing names, they don’t have any taxonomic import. Personally, I’m much more interested in the Latin names (this is Rhodactis inchoata), but regardless, it’s a gorgeous shroom.

The name depends entirely on the original namer of the coral. You'll often see corals named one thing by one seller (Forest Fire) and something similar by another seller (Campfire) and then something completely different by another seller (Maui Wowi, Rainbow, Superman, etc). I have a similar looking one that was sold under the name Ultra Orange Carpet Mushroom and another similar called an Eternals Mushroom. As @MaxTremors stated names are for marketing purposes and typically have a seller's name attached (LRO, SBB, WWC, RTA, RT, etc). Either way, like all the others said above - beautiful mushroom!
