how's the tank? now that you have had it for a few months can you give an honest review & thoughts.
if you where to do it all over would you go with the 230.6?

thinking very much about this tank.

It's a great tank. Sorry I haven't done an update in a while, as I've had a difficult time with some recent life events. The tank has been on cruise control for the past month and a half.

For a small update right now, I lost my fish to ich (my fault for not doing a quarantine). Since I haven't had anything to graze on the algae,it has got out of hand again (I haven't been feeding the tank). I'll be purchasing a sea hair later today for this problem.

Two days ago I purchased a used calcium reactor, now I just need a co2 tank, regulator and peristaltic pump. I will not be setting it up until I use my supply of 2part (maybe a month or 2)

I'll post better update this week.

Sometimes cruise control is the best thing for a reef from what I've seen here on the forums. We all prolly need to just sit back and leave it the heck alone once in a while!

Sorry for the lack of updates, life has been rough.

Since my last actual update I lost all my fish to ich from not doing a quarantine (not happening again). I haven't had any fish to eat algae and some of the fish that died rotted and added a ton of nutrients to fuel the hair algae I currently have.

So about a month ago I bought a used calcium reactor. I finally got all the parts to hook it up a little over a week ago and got it going. Currently it looks like it is dialed in and my parameters are holding steady with 9.18 DKH, 430ppm calcium, and 1400ppm magnesium.

About a month ago the algae was so bad I bought a sea hare and a second one a two days ago.

Since adding the calcium reactor many of my sps have been getting their color back and everything is improving.

I also bought two rock flower anemones.

Over my weekend I connected my t5s to the wall outlet to confirm that I need new balasts. The ones in the light unit are set up for 240v connections.

The tank itself is awesome, waterbox did an awesome job.

Hopefully everyone can forgive me for not doing better with the updates. I have included some eye candy to help make up for it.

Sorry to hear about your losses. The pictures seem to indicate your tank is still doing pretty well otherwise.

Oh yeah, aside from the hair algae everything is doing great. Corals wise everything is growing like weeds, and since adding the calium reactor there has been tremendous color imorovements with a couple of corals that we're browned out.

Man I really wish I held back on buying my RSR 525 sometimes and bought one of these... maybe upgrade to the 230.6 one day if I can talk the wife into it :)
