Nyos Quantum skimmer worked really well when the tank was cloudy with sand dust. The foam was thick. Now since the water is clean I have no foam. Had to shut it down anyway while the Dr. Tims settles in.

@Robby USA

Update on NYOS. I love this skimmer. It's so quiet you can not tell it is running. No start up noise, no noise at all. Hardly any break in period maybe 4 hours it took before it stopped overflowing. It immediately pulled out small dust from the new sand/rock. Very easy to adjust and tune. Creates a nice thick foam and this is with a new system with still very clean water. Love the clear bubble intake! Going to try my best to keep it clean.. the fuge is the next compartment over with a kessil h380.. ;Nailbiting

The nyos is doing an awesome job at pulling out the uglies the tank is going through at the moment. It's been a while since starting a new tank... I can't believe I forgot how bad that skin mate smells. The first cup I dumped was about 5x that. I gagged when pouring it out, ended up getting a big breath of it.

Po4- .05ppm
Po3 - 3ppm

I'm liking those numbers.

I need to do a huge update soon on the stand skins, wire management, and fish! A lot of fish came in, still some in qt.

Wow nice build. Like the choices for the system! Hows the fuge looking?you might want to get a screen cover. Those anthias/wrasses are big time surfers!

There is a cover, custom acrylic one. I'll post pictures tomorrow of itit alo more other updates I've been meaning to post. Fuge is good, may have added cheato a little early. Been feeding the system 10 cubes a day and today po3 - 1ppm po4 .006 ... Shutting skimmer off for a bit.

New OctoLid.. have to be honest here not impressed with the quality and craftsmanship. The edges are rough and sharp in spots. The directions even state there can be sharp edges and to be careful. - haha. The extra mesh was not cut off, had to take a blade to it. If a fish jumped the edges of the mesh would have done damage. If you compare the cost of the trigger sump which wasn't much more than this lid, the trigger sump is on a whole other higher level of quality. At least it's not something you can see easily.

Electrical panel is done. Added a battery back up for the Gyres.

Wish so much left over cable length it was hard to manage it neatly.

The Neptune FMM module looks like it's not level but actually it wasn't sitting fully on the mount when I took the picture.

Still some extra room for other goodies down the road... Not sure what though.

And last but not least we have cheato in the fuge... I may have added it a bit soon, not reading more than 1ppm of po3.

Also added 2 more canisters of DI Resin giving me a 7 stage. I have the finished rodit line going through my wall in the laundry room into the garage and right into my water storsst container.

Added a Brightwell biological brick to make up for gentle use of rock in this system.

It has been a minute since a update, i know i suck. Tank is going through some nasty ugly stages. I decided to use some vibrant to help out, it has had some impact. I currently have this nasty brown hair algae that grows back rather quickly and started to take growth on the sand. A tad of cyno and a tad of GHA both of which i am not concerned about. Currently scrubbing rocks once a week before water change. PO4 - .04, Po3 1-2ppm. I had to toss the cheato as this brown hair algea was taking it over and killing it. I will try cheato again once i get this brown stuff under control.
