Alright guys. First post with many to come. I ordered on cyber Monday the very new with not many examples waterbox 65.4. 65 gallons 4 feet wide. All in one. I also ordered two ai prime 16hds with it and the stand. Only thing I need to buy is a heater and return pump. For now. What gph is best for this size. I’m thinking sicce 3.0 I believe is around 700gph and will fit my sump chamber.
can’t wait to show you guys the process coming up! Also I have 3 qt tanks built up with fish abs corals to make its way into this build eventually. Will show them tomorrow

Same. Probably be in end of January maybe. That pump you have. How many gph? I may call them tomorrow as ask what the sump is designed for?

I know when I looked on the waterbox website it said what size pump is best in the description section for the smaller tanks at least so maybe double check the website?

i called waterbox and was told the max recommended flow is 660 gph. The reef octopus varios2 is rated over 800gph but it’s dc. I can turn the pump down.

Good call. You are always never going to get enough flow with just the return pump. Using powerhead like Nero is the cheap way to add tons of flow. I went with 2 Nero 3 instead of Nero 5. Get a smaller return pump and spend the money on powerhead.

I was deciding btw Sicce Syncra Pro (550gph) or RO Varios2 DC. Went with the DC option because it was on sale. Check out the Syncra Pro. Cost about the same but more importantly lower wattage (29w versus 35w) compared to similar size Sicce 2.0. Both pump rated at ~550gph. I could be wrong, but more efficient means less heat, and may be a sign of better quality/technology?

Ok so the 30g qt tank is assembled with my army going forward. The dream fish have arrived and doing well. Waterbox says this January I will get my tank so fingers crossed. No rush as these fish will be in qt for 3 months anyway also second pic is my coral qt tank with everything mixed reef one could enjoy with 20 corals. And also my Fluval 13.5 has qt fish and coral that will also join the bunch! Don’t mind the dinos. Lol

Any news on your tank? I have not heard from waterbox regarding my order.
No news at all I’m part of waterbox Facebook group. Wow with covid so many people have bought tanks. They can’t keep up! I have started to acquire the things I need to make this happen and I’m ready now !

Since waterbox is dragging here’s the return pump I choose. Sicce 2.0. 568gph which will give 8.6 times tank turn over filtration wise and I have 80lbs of caribsea aragonite

Great mind think alike. I also bought the Fluval 13.5 for fish qt. Not only we have the same main display, we have the same qt as well.

still cycling the qt tank. Will have some fish in there in a week or so. It depends what I can get from the LFS.

Got an email from waterbox. They expect to get the tank end of next week, and will turn around and ship it out. Most likely i'll get it by end of Jan.

Looks like you have a flame angel and blue tang in your QT tank. Did you use copper? How are they managing copper?

I am planning on Kole tang and Flame angel.

All other fish look perfectly healthy. I don’t think the ich got to any other fish. All eating like mad and doing there thing

Hey gang, I have this tank setup for a couple months now and love it.
I originally bought the Sicce 2.0 and to be honest I should have just kept it. I upgraded to an SDC 6.0 and it is nice, but just a lot of Bells and whistles that are unnecessary. I honestly found the syncra to be quieter as well, even after 6 weeks of break in on the DC.

I did buy the VCA random flow generators and they are killer. You do have to buy directly from them though as BRS doesn’t sell the right sizes. Also, the kraken reef filter cups are awesome!

hopefully the tank gets to you quickly. When mine finally shipped i got it two days later.
