I've had a RFA for several months in my tank doing just fine, it did climb to the highest point in my tank and seemed to be happy for several months. About 2 days ago I noticed it started twisting itself. Its foot was planted in the rock work and it just started twisting its body until it literally split in half. The foot is still in the rock work but the rest of the RFA is on a different rock. I've never seen this happen, cant find anything about something like this happening...

The RFA seems to be fine, it isnt molting or spewing anything into the tank. Any ideas what is going on?

Pics included.

I am interested in this myself. In my own experience, a damaged foot equals "dead RFA". If both parts are alive and well, perhaps you will have 2.
Thats what I have read but both parts seem healthy? More pictures after a day:
