I’m on a well, and wondering if I need an RODI unit.
I have a full water report form this past summer, would this help on making this decision?
It’s good money to invest, however if I can get away without paying out the money yet I will hold off.
I have a 55 gallon with 10 gallon sump
A couple of corals, sand and live rock. System has been running for almost 2 weeks at my house, got locally the entire system with 4 fish.

Thanks in advance

Rodi is usually a good investment. But if your water report checks out and your tds is low you could save a few bucks and get away with just an ro filter

Typically not recommended here, but you can check your tds and see what you have. Some have had success, other have not. But most of this hobby is about keeping things stable. Having the best starting point goes a long way to getting you that stability we all strive for.

You can buy a tds meter very cheap. Regardless of if you go rodi the meter will come in handy (but most rodis will come with one)

We always say tds when talking about water quality, but it is really what makes up the tds that is the issue. If you could post your water quality report someone here probably could tell you if an RODI is needed.

I would. I have well and it gave me nothing but hair algae when once battled turned to cyano, then to Dino and now matted algae which is a monster to get rid of

Do you think this unit is sufficient ?
Or will I need to get the TDS meter first and see if I need a 5 stage or more ?
