I noticed in my utility room a vent on the house waste pipe. Can I tap into this to drain my rodi waste? Probably my awc waste too...

Ok, awesome. Do I just buy a 1/4" ro bung and drill a hole in the tube then thread it with some plumbers tape?

Add something like this on top with a short piece coming up and a saddle clamp on the short piece.

It looks like that has a 2" spigot. I was going to buy a 1/4 to 1/2 threaded male connector (pic). Do you know of a piece that can go from the 2" to the 1/2"?

Yep tap it and tape it or pvc glue it. Ive done this to pressurized rounded pvc and used pvc glue to melt the fitting into the tapped hole for a chemical feed loop at work. No leaks.

That pipe looks like 1 1/2 inch. This would work quickly

Awesome! I don't think this is pressurized since it's vented so I was hoping I could just use plumbers tape vs cement it in. I could always buy a cap and cement it if I need to close it up was my thoughts.

I haven't found one that'll fit a 3" or 4" pipe properly.

You will need a reducing fitting to get to the threaded 1/4" but always an option

Good observation, I'll go measure it soon and see what I'm dealing with. In general I'm not a fan of saddles as the leak over time and they make a hole anyways. So.. Maybe the tap is the best anyway

True, but there shouldn’t be much water going through there I think, so that wouldn’t be an issue. I have a vent tube from the ceiling that connects to my house’s main waste pipe. Took me 2 minutes to connect and I can add a small dollop of silicon and it will be sealed if I ever need to remove it. I put the whole towards the wall so it will never be noticed.

I plan to have my rodi, awc, and skimmer waste all going into this.

So, mission accomplished, but I think I have an issue (help!)

OK so, install went fine. When I flush then test, no leaks. Cool. A few mins later I see some water drip out around the top red circle (see pic) to where the bottom red circle is. I see this happen a few times. I took a pic looking up at the cap and it appears to have some sort of vent on the under side? Should I have not done it this way? What can I do to prevent the small drip leaks?

Oh, forgot to post the inside of the pipe pic. I took the top off and I don't even understand how it's dripping where it is..

So just tested again - when I flush the ro system that's when it does in fact leak a bit. Normal running, no leak.
