Hello! Overall, my goal is/was/in progress to upgrade my existing 75g in wall reef to a larger peninsula style reef tank. I started the design stage of this build at the beginning of November 2020. I worked with @Joe Glass Cages to come up with a 270g peninsula style aquarium that fit my wants in a dream reef tank. Below are the details of the 270g aquarium. My build thread banner in my name will detail the 75g in wall build I did several years ago.

I am going to make multiple post since a lot of work has happened on my end since November

Here are a few pics of the early demo stages. Thanks to @jta51reef we moved my 75g into a nearby room. Sounds easy..it wasn't. ...last pic is with all my tanks in the "nearby room"

Another detail...this build is a part of my basement remodel project. Here is the layout CAD I did for my fish room and basement remodel. Adding doors from adjacent room for fish room entrance. Overall, this also creates a new "bedroom" with a "closet" aka makes wife happy

This is the fish room. It's long and narrow about 40" wide and 180" long. Doorway on left is where I use to enter fish room...doorway on left is where 75g use to be.

Note: fish room upgrades include but not limited to.
1) new tile floor
2) re wired and all receptacles up high
3) utility sink..yes!!!
4) new lights and exhaust fan
5) sumps/tanks and other toys to come..

Here is the current state of the remodel.
1) Aquarium stand frame built, need to add bottom and top. I will finish once tank arrives (TBD)..also needs canopy
2) New fish room entrance framed
3) Updated electrical in fish room and new walls. I've always had a dedicated 20A breaker for fish room. Main idea was to relocate switches and receptacles.
4) Added drywall to fish room ..need to patch and paint...I hate drywall work.

Added bottom of stand and started cutting/fitting inside cabinet skins. I am going to paint with mildew resistant paint before attaching anything to the frame.

Painted the stand with some mildew resistant paint. I will have to turn the stand over and paint some more tomorrow!

Got my AL 4ft t5 hybrid fixture. Will go with my 3ft hybrid t5. I currently run xr15s on the 3ft setup. Thinking new gen5 xr15 or mix up with kessils.

Wow that’s quite a build you have going on there. I really wanted to do a peninsula but my house didn’t have a spot that would be easily possible. My spot was on the second floor and I would have had to reinforce the floor. It wasn’t something my wife seemed like she was willing to put up with lol. Great job with everything so far
