Thanks! I took the week off (kids spring break) so using my time off to git-r-dun!
Nice! My tank is arriving Sat and I'm going to take several days off next week to work on mine as well. I can't take Monday off and Tuesday I might have to work as well. Otherwise I was planning to take the whole week off. My son will be in school and the wife has to work, so I'll have pretty much all day uninterrupted to work on it.

I'm really liking the wrap you are putting on the stand. What type of wood are you using for it? I still only have a vague idea of what I am going to be doing for my wrap. I really need to nail that part down.

Thanks! I still have several details to add. I am using popular wood...cabinets are oak. The final pretty part of the stand is the hardest to nail down, imo. I am happy in the direction I'm going so far....next is color decision!

I'll be using Baltic birch to skin mine. It is cabinet grade plywood that has no voids in it. You can easily route the edges it is so well made. It does cost a lot more and only comes in 5'x5' sheets though.

On your trip at the top of the stand, is that an "outside corner" piece that covers lower frame of the tank? Do you have a closer pic of that piece that you could share?

Yah, many options out there. Poplar is easy to work with ...still not cheap unfortunately. 5x5 is a rough size to work with.

I can get a pic later. It's hard to see with the plastic wrap I have on the tank. It is 1x poplar with chair rail molding to make the top appearance and add the top 1inch lip then another molding piece at the bottom portion. It does cover the bottom black frame of the aquarium.

More trim added! I also painted the fish room...but I will post pics once I've ran the new lights and drop ceiling. It's dark and hard to see currently.

Installed the new fish room exhaust fan and vent outside. I also replaced the old vent cover to match... new on right... this guy is quiet!
