I love peninsula tanks for the fact that you put it all out there for everyone to see, keeps you tight on the appearance from all angles!
It does keep you on point for appearance. I clean the glass a lot more now. I also make many laps around the aquarium. Fun to have friends over and everyone can enjoy the aquarium given the sides and space available for viewing. I need to take another video with everything more "awake"

Aquascape time! The sand had settled enough for me to do the aquascape. I'm very happy with it. The marco rocks had been curing since May. I also installed my other T5 fixture. I will need to video the tank.

Sweet setup man. You have this setup just like I was wanting to do my next tank. I searched for hours to find one I liked, I just picked up a 8 x 2 x 2 peninsula and I’m thinking about building a setup similar to yours. Would you mind sharing how the top large doors are attached?
Also now that it has been up and running is there anything you wish you had done differently?
How high did you make your stand? I was thinking of going 40” tall. My current tank stand is 35”. My sump will be below the tank so I wanted a little more room.
Now my big debate for tomorrow is either welding a 3” tube steel stand or building it out of wood. The steel is free but I know it’s going to be super heavy! Not looking forward to moving it.

Thanks! (Sorry for the late reply)
The finished stand height at the aquarium bottom is 47" tall. The aquarium sits on the stand at 45" tall. I am 6'-5" tall and didn't want to bend down like I had to with my old setup. It's the perfect viewing height for most people.

Currently the doors sit inside the stand canopy with a "lip" to hold them in place. However, I am working to build 3/8" inset doors with European hinges. This is mainly because I get tired of taking the doors off and when I am not here my family needs to use my step ladder to remove them.

Tough choice on stand material. I say use what you are comfortable with. Steel is strong but make sure you coat it since you will have a sump in the stand....and overall around saltwater.

The only thing I would've done differently is the doors. As mentioned I am redoing those! I did a lot of planning for this setup and I am happy with everything so far. My fish room with a utility sink and QT rack system is the best part imo.

Best of luck!!

Are you going to get a little bit of ‘yellow’ in there? BiColor Angel, something? The tank is kind of screaming for it, no? ;)

Ha! Yes, there is lots of yellow in there currently for fish. I have somehow managed to get every bicolor fish (bicolor blenny. Angel, foxface...and yellow watchmen gobies...even yellow eyed kole) lol. I have a hippo/naso/Tomini in QT waiting to enter DT.
