I haven't seen this before....our big squamosa has been acting strange and not staying open as much. Still looks healthy but just a little off in behavior. I noticed a sac like formation on the right side next to the gill when the in current siphon was open. It wasn't there before and isn't present in the other clams. He has spewed out a white goo the last few days which I assume is semen but I'm not sure since I've never had any clams spawn in the reef tank before. If it is spawning I don't think it's stress related. My main concern is the sac near the gills, could it be gammets? Any info is greatly appreciated. I'm trying to get pics but it's not easy since the incurrent siphon is rarely open but I will get some.

Heres a couple pics i just snapped. Quality isn't great since my lens on my camera is cracked. The blue squamosa pic is showing healthy gills, the brown squamosa pic shows the sac next to the gills.

Are there any experts out there that have seen this? I've read through a few articles from James fatherbee but I can't find anything to suggest what this growth is. Anyone??

To me it looks like gills. I'm not expert but that's what it looks like to me
