Basically after a month of getting a beautiful desjardini sailfin he began losing his yellow color lookin pale most of the time. His fins started to look jagged rather than curved and long. I asked the LFS and they thought it could be his nutrition so we tried some different food. Nothing has changed in the last couple of months and I’d really like to get him looking right again. Leave suggestions below please! Thanks!

Can we get a picture without the blue lights? White light works the best for getting your fish some help. ;)

my yellow tang looked a lot like that started selcon looks better but hes still finless its been months very active and eats like a pig just looks like crap
Same with mine! Doesn’t seem like he’s sick as he tears into the food. Just don’t get how much of a drastic change happened so fast.

Sure looks like HLLE, especially the erosion around the eyes. Best cure for the condition is to feed high quality foods with vitamins added. Zoecon is made specifically to help with HLLE. Try making your fish a "smoothie" made from a variety of frozen food cubes: seaweed, chopped clams, mysis, etc. and add some Zoecon. Put it in a tupperware and mix a bit. You can store it in the fridge for a few days.

Zombie fish! Gotta admit looks like it. I’d say feed him a variety of enriched foods. I use selcon and different color seaweeds

That is a pretty hideous fish, but lots of character!

I agree HLLE and probably flukes or something eating the fins or an infection. Has the fin loss continued/ how fast did it progress?

Guessing an infection or flukes started this and then malnutrition and a weakened immune system led to quickly advancing HLLE.

Sorry to say that fish will never heal to be any kind of “looker” but may recover enough to live a happy life! :)

Welcome home to R2R, you will love it here!
