My salinity is 1.024, I’m lazy.

My tank is 600L, according to online calculators, 1.5kg of salt will increase the salinity.

If I add 500g to my top off water (slowly and gently) will this raise the salt?

Am I missing something? Good idea or not?

Don't add salt to your tank.

I’m talking about having salty top off water rather than fresh water.

let it evaporate (don't top off with fresh). it will gradually increase salinity then fill with fresh saltwater to the normal level

I see your point but that’s more work than just adding salt to the top off tank.

.002 isn't a lot. probably just skip one day of topping off. i would wait until your ready for a water change so you will have the fresh saltwater already made

If you are testing with 100ml of tank water twice a day using the KH Director, how much salt are you losing in grams? Presuming 1.026 gravity.

I was thinking do I add lime 50g of salt to my top off tank each week?

I have a fresh water and salt water top off. When the salinity gets low I switch the connections and let the salt water fill for ato until I’m happy with the numbers and switch back.

On general I keep my salt mix at 36 to compensate for skimmer production and lose.
