I just filled my new take up with water and added what I needed for the water and the next day I saw the hole inside of the glass was cloudy I had to scrub it off. My pet store said it was the salt stain on the inside of the glass it would b find and will go away. Can anyone tell me if this is right. Thanks

Is this a glass or acrylic tank? Looks like glass to me, but I want to be sure.

Acrylic. Its 175 bowfront

Uh oh, that's a problem. You can't just go scrubbing on an acrylic tank, you'll scratch it up. You can only use white (acrylic safe) pads on it.

I think you may need to drain and buff it to get the scratches/scuff marks out.

I think you may have scuffed the acrylic up. You need to go get a white pad (it will say safe for acrylic tanks) and try wiping the panels down with that.

to me it looks like sand dust. did you rinse the sand before placing in the tank? if you placed dry sand in there without rinsing, it's gonna have a lot of dust. I usually have to rinse it multiple times before the water starts running semi clear. if it is sand, it wipe off easily though. hopefully you didn't scratch your brand new tank on the first day

do you have a skimmer or filter running? it will help clear out the dust.

if it's dust it really shouldn't scratch the acrylic unless you scratched the tank with sponge your using.

just give it a few days for the sand to settle
