just purchased a watermelon anenomie for my tank and have 2 large hermit crabs and thought in the car if they would mix okay.

Should I be concerned and any tips with care for new ones

I don't think your hermits should have much trouble with the anemone. I've never seen one get taken by any anemone. Usually they can just walk right through them. At least that's been my experience. And I bring quite a few anemones and hermits home from snorkel trips to the Florida Keys. 0881 Almost FTS June 2019.jpg

In fact, I would be concerned in the opposite way, that the anemone would swallow the hermit and try to digest it. But every hermit and snail I've had seems to be pretty impervious to the strength of an anemone.

Thanks. That was a very unusual tank in that there was an egg crate 'floor' sitting at a 45 degree angle sloping from front to back. There was a deep sandy bottom and the rocks were all set on the egg crate, creating a big open void under the rocks. There were lots of sponges the developed under the rocks. I think the flow around the rocks from below was useful.

But it was more about the corals having the time to grow. Most of them were zoas and RFAs which both offer great color.

I've had hermits and snails in my tank. The snail will get right next to the anemone, and it hasn't bothered it.

Thanks for info, I like deep sand flow and have 2 inch plus floor of sand on my New 60 Gallon which is less than a week old so still in process. Cool idea about sloping floor

I had that 40g tank set up for several years. I never had any serious issues under the sloped floor and the corals all did quite well.
