One of the most resilient types of anthias available, paired with the same beauty and active personality that's characteristic of the species. A great addition to any tank!

I have 2 females, but was hoping they would change over like a clown. They are characters and grab people's attention in the tank.

I'm going to be honest..... we fed ours once a day like the rest of the tank. She lived for 8 years before we killed her and a pipefish in an ant poison incident. She would eat mysis out of our hands. When she figured out the seahorse bowl, she would sit in the dish and wait for meal time.

Our blotched anthias trio also was only fed once a day. They went from this when I bought them

to being nice little fatties.....

Once a day feeding and they've been doing great for over 4 years.

I feed the Red Saddled Anthias more often as they are a small hyper little fish. She's also in with an OSFF, so she gets fed more due to the needs of the filefish. I guess she's about 5-ish now.

Because you can only fed once a day, IMO, it doesn't rule them out as being an appropriate tank mate. I just feed a super varied diet that includes shaved salmon, cod and ahi (basically any saltwater fare at the market). I dose vitamin C, keep an eye on freezer times, thaw properly and they've been doing great!

I have four female Lyretails added recently and I think one is changing to a male. She is being mean. They are really beautiful fish. Trying the whole lights out thing to keep the tension down in the tank and let the two newer ones settle in.

I love the lyretail anthias' , what I don't like is the fight that happens when a strong female tries to take over the males role. It's a bit sad to watch.
