My skimmer eventually cut the microbubbles down, but they still make it to the display when I take out my filter foam to clean it. Tank it looking nice and clean, are your lights mounted at different heights, or is it just the angle of the picture?

i dont have a filter foam in there since there isnt a bubble trap in the sump.

the light on the left was not centered and was pushed out closer to the front of the tank because i didn't have the correct screw in the bracket.
i recently fixed this issue and the lights are now level and centered to the tank

Tank update. Its been awhile since I posted. Alot of things changed. (Sump swap, dosing pump online, lowered lights,
Tank move, 2 mp 40s added, refugium online with dragons breath. )Things are doing great. Have spent tons of money on fish and coral lately.

we have added tons of new coral lately.

unfortunately the green hair algae is making its way back. Nitrate and phos posted below
483F3998-7264-402A-9892-2C825F8A43B1.png

Fuge light runs 10pm -6am with dragons breath
Using a old reef octopus skimmer ( the simplicity i had on initial start up crap the bucket)
I dont think the skimmer is skimming like i want it too.

on top of that.
i am seeing no growth at this point
Great color but no growth. ( i did pick up a t5 hybrid from a friend if i wanted to run it with the mitras)
But Another friend of mine thinks i may be running the mitra’s to strong . So i switched back to high efficiency mode (caps at 70% power regardless of schedule ) and dropped the cool white and sky white down 5% during peak time .

And i had a acro RTN out of the blue last night.

out of all my previous tanks, this has been my WORST.

Been having the same issue. Some acro doing well, other blanch white in a few weeks. Those acro doing well are growing but very slow compared to softies, montis, blastos, etc. I guess it is to be expected. We all want results now. Hard to be patient.

im not even seeing growth from lps/ softies. some of the coral ive had for over a year should be a colony but they are still frag size pieces. ive had far better results from previous tanks.

weird. have you tested alk/calcium/mag with test kits? I wonder if something is off.
i test alk. its staying steady around 9.4/9.5
i dose ESV 2 part in equal ratio's
i do not currently have a magnesium or calcium test, i am placing a large order on BRS today and a magnesium and calcium test kit are in the cart along with new RODI filters.

It will be interesting to see the levels. I am using BRS soda ash and calcium chloride with tropic marin part C and also trace A/K in the BRS stuff. works well. I have noticed that my calcium need does sometimes match the alk need/dose but not always. I have them on separate dosers and adjust it based on weekly tests. Keep us updated after you get the test kits.

lots of updates lately...

replaced a rusty cabinet hinge
found out i had frogs living in my RODI Storage tank ( talking about dosing the tank with pure frog tick:oops:)
and one of my mp40s went out. ( it was old and i only had $50 in it. id say i got my use out of it)

fixed all that and did a 30 gallon WC on 11/5

went to a coral show on 11/6 and spent tons of money on corals ( i shouldnt have with the shape the tank is in but i took the risk)
also picked up a new mp40 while i was there.

on 11/11 i picked up a new skimmer . a nyo's 160. and a bunch more coral from a close friend of mine.

nutrients are still high but things are looking better and starting to get some color back. i plan to do another WC this weekend and probably redo the rock scape AGAIN to try and find that perfect scape for all the corals we have.

ill post some pics....

tank has been looking better, more corals have been added.

a trip to the lfs on sunday ended up having an impulse purchase of a new tank.

red sea reefer 525XL.

let me just say i am very excited about this new tank. i will be starting a new build thread on this one.

all livestock and equipment will be moved over once the tank arrives.
