Awesome tank man, would love a new FTS! What bulbs are you running in the powermodule and do you know what PAR on average your acros are getting during that 5 hour peak?

Thanks!

new FTS is coming. I was running ATI blue plus (4), coral plus (2), UV(1) and 1 purple plus. Will be switching to Giesemann bulbs (only because I am getting a great deal). Have noted down the PAR that I was getting with ATI. will see how much power Giesemann has. My peak is for 6 hours...T5 comes on for 6 hours with full intensity. PAR anywhere from 200 to 500 right now.

PLEASE tell me that first pic is heavily photoshopped!!
Absolutely stunning! !

Thanks mate. I use my Canon T2i (its time to change) and white balance assistance. Its a shame that there is no camera that truly captures what eyes can see without white balance assistance.

How far off the tank are your lights?

Enough to stick my head underneath it without drowning...so around 9-10 inches. I used to have it closer, but my fishies go nuts while being fed and they always end up slashing water at the fixture.

The tank has never done better (I know I will regret saying it...knocking hard on wood :))...

continuing with the following routine:
- basic dosing (ESV CA/Alk/Mag). I use up 350 ml of cal and Alk each daily.
- ATI Powermodule
- Lots of random flow
- Feeding 2-3 times with reef roids/BRS reef chilli
- water changes every week
- change half of GAC/GFO every 2 weeks.

That's it. some pics...

Thanks mate. I check 3 water parameters based on visual inspection of the corals...

Carbonate target to keep around 8 dkh
Nitrate - around .25ppm (I would like to increase but no luck, even after dosing KNO3)
Phosphate - 0.03 ppm

Since I dose equal ESV 2 part, calcium is always at around 420 and mag around 1250.

Hope that helps.

@SamsReef I have the 8 bulb ATI t5/led hybrid aswell. Do you use the LED as part of your growth lights or just more for the LED color pop. Do you find that there are large hotspots under the LED clusters or enough spread with them that it does not pose an issue?

I do use the LED clusters for additional par.

My fixture is around 10 inches above the water surface and I do not see hot spots. There are better LED fixtures out there but as a LED/T5 combo, it’s a nice fixture.
