Sand algae

Recently have this algae covering my sand. Does not suck up through Python when I do my water changes rather it mats up. I can cover it by stirring the sand but it's back the next day. I'm almost positive it is algae and not cyano/dinos as I see my foxface pick at it constantly. It stays a thin layer almost exactly the same as the green film algae growing on my glass. Seems harmless but it is quite unsightly so I would like to get rid of it. Nitrates 8 phosphates .05. lighting blue leds 8-8 T5s 4-7pm. Daylight through windows 8-6.

What are you using to test you parameters and are you using any phosphate remover media? Also how old are the lights and bulbs. It looks like it’s just the surface area where it’s exposed to your lights. May be a light issue or excess nutrient in your water.

Hanna ULP for phosphates. Nyos for nitrates. No phosphate remover. Bulbs are as old as the system

It’s hard to say really maybe if you can back down your lights and add some GFO. Cut your feeding in half for a week and see if it makes an impact. If it does it’s a nutrient problem. If not maybe send off a water test to the lab. Again this is just a suggestion I to struggle from time to time with my own and I start with the basic process of elimination.

Recently did an ICP everything was in line. I'm more so looking for ways of manual removal if anyone knows of any.
