Question After watching the one video by Ross I went out and bought quit a few snails, and a tuxedo urchin. The snails immediately burrowed in. So will the light kill anything?
If they are buried under the sand they will buy fine. Any clean up crew that gets in the way just push them aside. Do not go directly above them with the UV Sweeper.

It's nearly two months since my last UV Sweeper treatment and still no sign of dinos.
I've completely stopped all of the standard dino treatments and am only working on stabilizing nutrients.
Thanks Moe!

I just found out about this product and have a quick question (probably answered somewhere in 7 pages) There is a note in the listing Not to be used with acrylic tank.

Could you explain why, as I have acrylic tank. Thanks

I was on my 3rd battle with procentrum and had been dosing a ton of silicates for almost 2 months. UV, bacteria, pods, phyto, ect.

Yes I asked because I have one apparently it will cause hairline cracks. So if your careful you could shield your glass with plastic.

The definition of a work thread is when several reefs not owned by the inventor/ claimant of best methods/ undergo testing of a given method and the author does not control feedback from the masses at all.

This is in contrast to most reefing authoritative works where the inventor/ claimant only uses their own tank for all works and proof (which doesn't tell us how well X works for others)

Work threads are the only thing I believe for reefing claims. Any sales ad, author claim or university study has low convincingness to me as they simply don't transfer outbound very well at all especially for dinos

@Moe K not sure who's device this is, but it's running a work thread. I'd buy you a digital coffee for doing such a dang good job with other people's reefs

Work thread, check. I didn't believe the device at all several months ago. Work thread outcomes cannot be argued, these tanks are getting worked bro.

I have never seen a more concentrated impact to dinos for other people as this method is showing barely on page seven. Well done whoever made this.

You have higher stat % fix rate than the methods from the stickied 650 page dinos thread which is a decade in practice. You're beating them a few months in, dang. Solid work thread

I saw this device months ago and passed it by. No way was it going to do anything. It turned months of battles around in a week for me. I finished my treatment a couple of weeks ago and across are starting to color back up. Good polyp extension, and growth tips.

Well, I'll put in my 2 cents. This was taken Feb 10th,

And I Just now took this one,

I used the Sweeper every day at high noon till last week. I think I used it 3 times last week. I'll keep up for a while still. I'm very happy with these results.

I tried to tell you guys I had the solution! No one believed me. lol. J/k.

It's a weapon against dinos but people need to understand it's also a new method or process. The UV Sweeper alone will make progress but without the bacteria dosing regimen I am not sure how effective if at all it will be long term. And bacteria dosing without the UV Sweeper the same.

Its a tricky subject with LCA and prorocentrum because there are those reefers that have solved their problem with just an adjustment with nutrients or even temperature. But then there are many many more victims that have gone through most all suggestions who were only left with the option of dosing silicates which can take up to a month if you are lucky to almost a year for the unlucky and in that time have the worst looking display tank imaginable. There is still a lot to learn about these organisms.

One thing I noticed with the UV sweeper is that you can test a lot of different bacterias at a relatively rapid rate along side the UV Sweeper. We never had a tool that could sterilize them as fast and then test a process to keep them at bay or under control permanently with as little effort. Of course there is the method Brandon has of rip cleaning which has shown to work but sometimes not as practical on bigger systems. I do suggest the rip clean method for those with nano tanks that struggle to fit the UV Sweeper or those with small acrylic tanks.

By the way guys, I am a sponsor now. Just needing to make the time to set up a new thread and also waiting on a new shipment of parts.

Shameless banner plug.

3 months since last treatment.
No negative effects.
I am currently adding phyto once a week, copepods (dragonet and possum wrasse) approximately every 10 days and occasionally adding some bacteria.
I am also maintaining nutrients.
