Hi Guys

Im upgrading my waterbox 20 AIO filter sock chamber from a intank media basket to a redsea nano mat

in the process i noticed the basket is full of what im assuming is sponges and non photosynthetic "things" is there any point to try scraping these off and putting them into the second chamber or just not worth it?

what are the names of these things?

Wow thats quite the growth there. I would say it looks like different sponges. They are usually thought of as good/beneficial depending on where they are. Scraping them off would most likely kill them some may survive. Either way its up to you. Try to not expose them to air if you are trying to keep them. Are they not already growing in the second chamber?

The second chamber has live rock rubble.

It’s possible that there are some in there but i dont think as much as the first chamber as its exposed to light spill. The first is almost completely dark because of using floss on top.

Maybe i should cut the basket up and put it in the second chamber?
