So, most of that algae in that pile is actually bryopsis. It grows like crazy in my fuge, but no signs in my DT since right after I set the tank back up. Would you let it grow in your fuge and use it as nutrient export, or would you treat it right away for fear that it will get in the DT?

If it were me I would ride it out for a few more months as you are still kinda in the early stage. When I first started my fuge it would grow all types of algae. It would also grow all over the glass or anything it could find a place to grow in the fuge. Over time the fuge seemed to mature and all the annoying algae seemed to die off and now the only thing that grows is chaeto.

All of these frags and you can’t even see them in my FTS.

Bahahaha I had the same issue! Ordered a battlebox and took a FTS and it looks like a FOWLR!

Hopefully soon we can both see some awesome growth...

Looking good by the way!

Tank looks nice and I am digging your cave on the left.

I just had frags forever also and that is why I was waiting and waiting to post a FTS.

Same problem here, two battleboxes but if you step back everything is gone! (mostly not glued yet, just getting em started)

I guess we all need smaller tanks so the frags are more prominent. I don’t mind showing my work in progress.

Thanks. It’s not really a cave. More of an overhand with a low rock beneath it and offset to the front. My plan is to have SPS stretch off the overhang and extend it and have euphillia on the rock below. Maybe even a nem some day?

Here’s a not so great shot that better shows the overhang.

Well, coming from this, it’s a big change for me.

True... But losing that was not from anything you did or could have done... That was a sad day

I liked a lot your plan, I think overhand rock with an island of euphyllia below, with the sps growing on top of it will be awesome, good job!

I know how hard it is, I went through it a little over a year ago, but it is also a great opportunity to make improvements and correct some mistakes, the lesson I took from this is that, "sometimes we have to take a step back to take two steps forward", keep up with your good work. congratulations!

My older granddaughter used to love to look into my freshwater (at that time) tanks, to feed the fish .... now, she wants to de-extinct the thylacine. (She's eight.)

My younger granddaughter loves the salt tank (she might be half a year older than your li'l cutie). Her favorite fish to watch is the fluttering midas blenny.

Gotta love kids & reefing!
