I read about it in the news, but nothing impacting me personally……More jerks smoking on the subway. Yeah, I’ve been in Chicago for 20 years but I’m originally from a 900 person town in western IL. I have a place up in Port Washington WI and I go up there at least every other weekend if not more. The city isn’t at attractive to a 42 year old with kids as it was to 25 year old single guy, but the job is good and I’m kinda stuck here.

Continued up and downs with the tank. I’m currently on an upswing. I decided I’m going to not worry about it even check nitrates and phosphates for a while. I took my biopellets off line and filled my return chamber with macro.

Over the last six months or so, I’ve lost some stuff because of neglect, but also got quite a bit of new stuff though trades. So here’s some of the newer-ish stuff.

I’ve moved to a new house a few miles from my old condo. Tank is still running at the old place, but I’ll be breaking it down in the coming weeks and transferring livestock to my new build.

New build is slightly smaller, 48 X 30 X 25 peninsula. Tank should arrive this week and other stuff is arriving. I got my first real sump today!

Front right, which I’ll admit is a little odd. Now I’ll have to pipe it up and back to run it along the wall out of my way. I’d prefer it it were in the back right, but no big deal.

I’m in Ravenswood now, so much closer to where you just moved from.

I had Planet make the tank. I was going to put it in a family room and have now decided to put it in our big laundry/storage room, so I’m mad at myself for only going four feet. Wish I went 5-6 feet now. Oh well. My life is pretty hectic, so the smaller tank might mean less time taking care of it.

No, I just got it a few months ago from a friend.

And yes, where I planned to put it, only four feet would work. Now that I’ve decided to put it in more of a fish room, I have tons of space and I’m mad at myself for not going longer. BUT….now I have space to put in a shallow grow out tank to grow high end frags on square tiles like all the cool kids!
