That’s awesome, gotta love seeing that activity. Pretty large grain sand, I’ll bet that stays in place.

Played around with the macro lens tonight. I need to buy about 20 acro frags soon to get this tank filled in.

Lol... I had to go through like 4 other build threads to end up here on your most recent. Glad to see you're still chugging along and things are going well. Any update?

Ha, sorry you had to take that journey! Anyway, I’ve had a lot of ups and downs (mostly down) the last few months. I discovered that I had AEFW, even though I hadn’t added acros for something like 18 months. I took all acros out, cut down to drag size, bayer dipped twice weekly for 7-8 weeks. All seems fine now.

Then my cheato wasn’t growing right, so I removed it, and that apparently set of a Dino bloom. My nitrates are 26 and PO4 is .25, so I’d doesn’t seem to be a nutrient problem. The Dino’s seem to be subsiding, but now cyano is getting pretty bad. Nothing has harmed my corals though.

On the upside, I did some trading with a local buddy and got about 30 high-end acro frags for the low price of $0 (but I gave him about 15-20 heads of high-end torches). This is a little lesson to everyone….be generous and generosity comes around.

I’m finally getting around to building my light canopy and stand surround. I bought the stuff to do it over a year ago. Fish room is a mess as I’m mid project. I gotta say that I’m really loving having a tiled floor with a floor drain!

I’ve also recently built a DIY “powerhead” that likely somewhat compares to a Abyzz cannon in terms of flow. It’s made from a thruster used to power stand up paddle boards, underwater RC vehicles, and kayaks. It runs off an Arduino board and a couple guys on here have been kind enough to share the code for programming it. I can’t even run it at half power. This is just a temp mount that I’m using for it.
