Just arrived this morning and doing great. He ate his dinner like a champ and is now perched on a piece of pvc. I want to give a huge thanks to Lionfish Lair for all her advice in acclimation! She was spot on and he did great!!!

Nice lion! I found if I feed my lion fresh/ stinky fish he goes absolutely crazy. Lucky for me I have an international market with all kinds of fish. Good luck with your lion!

I was wondering when you were going to post about this guy! I guess I missed it with the title name.

Are they still doing well? They're not breathing hard, are they?

@ice fish, it's a Mombasae. Although I wouldn't recommend most triggers, lions can be in reefs.... just an FYI.

Sure they can but you lose all the nice smaller fish you can put in a reef. And agreed most triggers dont do well. But i have a blue throat thats been good to me.

You also lose all the nice smaller fish if you don't have a reef. Small fish don't define a reef environment. You can have a reef without any fish at all. I'm not trying to be argumentative, but people then think they don't do well with corals.

Yeah, I've seen plenty of amazing reefs even with volitans inside them. I love lions but i have the worst luck with them and like my trigger and wrasses too much

Awesome looking fish. Been wanting to start a small predator tank myself. But I have to figure out placement first.
