I don't know that is

Let's do it

But the challenge is to receive new lights. Use them for a week. Send them in for warranty, receive it back and sell it in marketplace.

Than see what you lost on it. Coz both can grow corals.
I am differentiating on new purchase price, speed of support and resale value.

You up for it. LETS GO
What? Why would I change anything?

How about just take some pics of your coral growth and compare it to mine? I'll continue sending no equipment anywhere nor having to buy any new equipment....and just continue growing the hell out of corals..lol. I see your point though...but for about $500 I have a return pump and lights for a 125 gallon tank.

Let's do
But even if I spend 50 bucks I value how the company provides support and what's resale value.
Coz at end of day you just rent. You look at cost. Not initial price.

Brother I know 500 dollars you got light and pump.
If it breaks then what, you buy new.
Coz you are not considering support or warranty.
Of you are I am asking let's try to challenge those.
You keep going back to growth. I am not saying it won't grow.
I am saying if your new light breaks will you get it fixed as fast as radion.
Or Cor
And then if you upgrade will you sell it for some decent prize.
That's the differentiation.
Remember this is what's differentiating..
Let's not argue bro. We are both cheap skates on SBB coral thread looking for discount.
I am buying radions discounted. You are buying viparspectra.
End of day we are both cheap.

My point is...it doesn't have to be expensive. If my jebao dies then I'll order a new one and have it in 2 days. No need to wait on a repair. Nothing I have is new..it's all over 2 years old. I have nothing against any of those products. If your into resale on equipment then by all means you're probably right...but why resale what works?

You asking me for coral pic growth is moot. People have grown coral under a bulb. Remember halides.
But I closed my tank 4 years ago. Stared my fish only last year. Got a frag tank just now. It finished cycling. Shane is my third order restarting.
But if you wanna see some pics of my corals before I got out. Here they are.

Yes I mostly LPS, even Shane js sending me mostly LPS.

Good so we agree. If your pump dies you order a new one. That makes your cost same as premium pump. If it dies under a year. You don't expect warranty?
I do expect warranty since jebaos are sold with one. So I expect warranty. Even the best pumps break. So don't tell me you habe one pump for 3 years. I know people lost pump of every manufacturer in 3 months.
So we are in agreement, point closed. Nice to meet you Billy.

I hate to argue. We all save money. We reefers hide stuff from out spouse. Work second job to support this. Haggle with each other on price. Goto frag swaps. Sit on sale threads.
So yeah none of us likes to throw money away. We are all cheap.

Jebao DCP line is pretty tried and true as far as I know. Not sure about their newer models. If there's no controller compatibility concern, it's a great option.

OP here. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: I am actually right in the middle on this one, that's why I asked the question.

@ssdawood, to your point about renting nice gear and having customer service to back the product, I have an Apex pro system, with a trident and DOS. I also have Radions. I want the resale value at the end of the day. It's like upgrading a phone every two years and you get a phone for a discount. I buy new gear and sell my quality gear for more than half what I paid for it. In most cases, I will buy top of the line gear.

@billyocean I ended up buying two Jebaos. I think the redundancy is more important when it comes to the return pump. I'd also rather have one in the closet for two years since a nice one will most likely outlive its warranty. This also isn't something you want to wait for customer service to resolve, and BRS isn't quick enough with their $2 shipping to go pumpless that long.

Pumps wear faster than lights or anything else so I think this is a good area to cheap out. Thank y'all for the input.
