I just ordered a seneye, I can't justify the cost of apogee. For just par measurements the seneye seems to do really well with the research I've done

Trying to go off other people's settings just isn't cutting it for me. I want to know. I've tried the phone app and while it seems close to other people's readings it's still makes me wonder.

Yeah, I was trying to go off others settings and just by watching how everything is responding. I'm thinking about just getting the neptune pmk for my apex since it's about the same as the seneye

Was hoping it was supposed to be a pinkish/light purple color... Looks like it will be going lower in the tank tomorrow. Thanks @billyocean

I don't have an Apex so....lol... Maybe one day I can pull the trigger on one.

Yeah, I only did because of the black Friday, and the affirm with BRS. Figured I was going to buy one anyway, why not use the 0% interest offered and pay it off over the year/few months. Win win for me since I was looking at them anyway.

That is what I use to check par. I don’t leave the sensor in the tank all of the time though and only use it like you would a normal par meter.
The only downside is that if you go through the internet to fusion the app doesn’t update the reading very frequently, so if not leaving the sensor in the tank it’s easier to log into apex local so the reading quickly updates.
On the positive side you also get a spare temp and IO port with the ASM.

The top two are the Harry Potter. I think I'll move it lower in the tank when I get back tomorrow. If it's supposed to be blue, it's not. So I'm going to assume it's getting to much light?

I really need to get a PAR meter. My mango tango is getting some nice teal on its skeleton now also

Didn't get skunked today, but only caught a bunch of little fish. But, any day fishing is better than sitting at home. Caught a couple I wish I had a bigger tank I could have put them in
I wonder if it's bleaching or a higher par can just get those colors? Almost looks like a bumblebee..

Been thinking about trying that korrallen zucht 1 2 3 4 trace element dosing. Not sure if it worth dosing trace when I do 10-15% water changes every week or so. I do understand you can go full on trace and not do water changes but I wonder if it would be worth it even with waterchanges. Tank looks to good after WC to quit doing WC bit that's just me. Any thoughts?

Icp is the only way to know. I do about 15% WC per week and I’ve often wondered the same thing. Many of my trace elements were not detectable so I now dose TM A and K. If I’m being honest I don’t see any difference though.

KZ trace works great, but if you're supplementing a trace, you should test for that trace... Reefmoonshiners is a more reliable method than pouring *unknown element 114* into your tank, cheaper too.

My numbers were good on icp...cept iodine..lol. Need to do another one soon. What I'm doing is working but there's a fine line between going for that extra WOW and jacking everything up.

IMO if everything looks good and is growing then why mess with what is working?

For a year of the kz 1 2 3 4 on 125 gallons it's 25 ml per month on the dose. So 300 ml per year if it's 5 ml per week...less than $100 per year. Of course that's just recommended dose.

I wasn't sure either way. The polyps have good extension during the day it seems, and even better at night. They're also a dark purple.

I was thinking if it was bleaching it would be more white. But it's that purple/pink that throws me off. I've never had one bleaching so not sure how to compare.

I've had one not getting enough PAR, it was a reddish-brown due to it putting out zooxanthellae because of not enough light. Polyps on it were always great to though. But when I moved it to where the Harry Potter os now, it turned a nice yellow and greenish. Lost it during the SVE I had.

I don't think it's bleaching. Maybe just pulling a different color out of it.

Does kind of look like a bumblebee without the yellow tips. I'd say for the most part, unless what you got said "shaded" or "colored down", you'd probably not have to worry about bleaching. If they were shaded, some light acclimation may have to take place, but I'd assume all of these acros had high par to begin with, so unless you are running an LED and metal halide combo, I don't think you could burn them. High alk and low nutrients is another story though if combined with high lights.

You may also just have a "mystery mystery" acro that was mislabeled like the torch earlier, might just be something else than what it was supposed to be. If it has polyps out and seems happy, I'd leave it.
