I finally got around to taking a few more bad pictures of my SBB corals.

By the time I took the picture of the gonis they had mostly retracted but I’m amazed at how much extension one of them normally has. Plus the last pic is of one of my Froot Loops, and I wish I could get a better picture because the colors on it are amazing. My second Froot Loops from the sale is harder to see the colors on because it has enough polyp extension that the polyps block your view of the coral.

How are you planning to deal with the wand for the sensor? It looks like it doesn’t come with the meter and people seem to say without it, the meter is kinda useless. Seems kinda dumb to have to buy it and then be stuck with it.

I know that question wasn’t directed towards me, but if you happen to have a 3d printer it’s incredibly cheap and easy to make your own wand with a fiberglass driveway marker from Lowes.

Good idea, but alas, no 3D printer here. I like the driveway marker idea though. Wondering if I can come up with some other gizmo to put on the end to hold the sensor. Does the sensor just sit in that cradle? Wondering if I can employ some sort of clamp to hold it to the marker.

There is a screw in the bottom of the sensor that holds it to the cradle.

I also have like a 30" coral grabber tongs. Thinking if I grip the sensor in that, that should work.
This is a picture I stole from another user but I’ve known people to make cheap wands with pvc pipe as well. Just heat up the end to flatten and bend it then drill a hole for the screw. It’s crude but would work.
