I did have a freshwater tank when I was a teenager and had a few Oscars in it. If I ever did a freshwater tank it would have to be for Oscars, Arowana, or Discus
I like discus. I almost put my Oscar in the frying pan after he ate my female electric blue Johanni.

I've never had any Discus but outside of saltwater fish they're the best looking fish IMO.
I just love oscars for their personalities, the ones I had were like puppies, they would swim up and let you pet them (which was probably more of a feeding response than anything, but still neat).
