What you're describing is majority of the history of the Astros. They would farm a lot of really good talent and then just trade them off as soon as they were worth anything. It has been frustrating being a Houston team fan for most of my life, minus the Rockets in the 90s. The city was in love with them the way they are with the Astros now!
