My sca tank finally arrived super happy!!! It’s 48x20x24. I hope to be able to chronicle everything here so maybe people can help me or I’ll help them with their mistakes. It’s prob going to be a long build but who knows. I still need to get or build a stand. Don’t know how comfortable I feel about building one yet. I have a reef octopus regal 150sss and a trigger system crystal 30 sump i bought an xr15 gen 4 pro for now still need to get a lot more things along the way I’m open to suggestions anybody has! Thanks hope you enjoy!

I know the mp10 won’t be enough plan on purchasing an mp40 and thinking about another xr15 it’ll be a mixed reef not much spa though I know I want a slimeball anacropora for sure. Thoughts on the equipment I have are welcome.

Finally had the courage to go to Home Depot and buy some 2x to start building the stand. Originally I thought I was just going to buy the wood and start another day. But I got home and just Dove into it took about two hours and went through a pound of 3” deck screws still wasn’t enough! Had some help also.

What type of plywood do you guys recommend for skinning the stand? And should I use 1/2” or 3/4” ? Thanks

Put everything on hold for now being that I had a spinal fusion procedure done a couple of weeks ago and I’m not supposed to do any type of bending over or lifting any thing heavy.

Very little progress.
did the sides and back with 1/2” birch plywood. Bought the same plywood for the front but don’t know if I should use it or go with some 3/4” since I want to put doors on it. I would like to go with some soft close hinges. This is my first build so any suggestions or information would be helpful.
