A few things I forgot to add from my previous post.
I ordered a 3 way 1" pvc Y connector.
I ordered a 1" true union check valve to stop back siphoning during power outages.
I ordered a Jebao 6500 DCP return pump.
I ordered Brightwell CoralAmino amino acid supplement.
I ordered BRS soda ash to raise the ALK of the Tropic Marin Pro salt.
I figured with the frequency of water changes and limited amount of corals I don't need to dose anything else since Ca & Mg will be replenished with the WCs.

Drilling the tank tomorrow!!
Plenty to do this week before the setup and transfer:
Temporarily move the 20gal tank; to work on the stand.
Tongue and groove the bottom of the stand for the sump to sit on.
Measure, cut, clock then dry fit the plumbing together for gluing.
Remove from the Brute and install the apex to the stand.

Next month I'll order a pH probe for the apex, the current one doesn't work anymore.
Thinking out loud here, I may hard plumb the main drain straight into the Clari Sea roller filter in the sump.
this far!!

You want an update??
I hate this ******* 40b and almost smashed it this morning!!
I will NEVER get an external overflow ever again!!
I sick of constantly adjusting my gate valve 6 times per day.
I woke up this morning with a small leak from the overflow box that trickled down onto my power supply for my MP40 frying it, just had to order a new MP40 power supply.
I'm giving in and going to pick up that 120 this weekend.
That needs to be setup sooner than later before I do something I shouldn't.

Sorry bud
Looking at a Lineatus or Rhomboid wrasse for replacement but my LFS wants $500 for Lineatus and $450 for Rhomboid.
Both supermale but I don't have the extra $500 right now, and that seems kinda high imo. May grab a juvenile "initial phase" for $250-$300 from LADD.

Anywho, the 120 will be setup before I get a new fish.
I have almost everything to set it up, just need to get some help to move it in the house and break down the 40 and set up the 120.

I myself wouldnt get a super male. You pay more and they seem to be short lived. Close to the end of life. Also I think wrasse transport and settle to a new environment better young and small.
Non super male rhomboid 200ish
Non super male lineatus 300ish

Thanks Crabby.
I'll go initial phase and watch it grow to supermale.
I believe that's what the basslet died from, just being old.
Had him 18 months he never grew and just stopped eating , never acted funny or weird and boom just dead, nothing in the tank would have attacked him he was semi aggressive and held his own quite well.

Sorry for the loss. Was a beautiful fish.

It is exciting watching them transition. It’s as good as getting a new fish.
My take reading up on wrasse it seems they have a shorter life then most fish. No guarantee for it turn supermale. The most dominant one in the tank has the chance. Also Think a supermale can loose some color when put in a different tank.

Do you FW dip new fish. Flukes are what to watch the most with wrasss

Thanks great info.
You're right, no guarantee of transitioning to supermale.
I do like to FW dip my fish, I've done that with each fish so far.

Hello SCA 50 cube buddy!! ;)

Hows the reef? How are u?
Doing great the reef is living, lol.
I haven't had much time to do much on either tank since my hours went up at work.
I'm keeping up with WC but haven't added anything.
Also I did have dino/cyano this summer that killed a few corals, got that under control.
I do still have some cyano that I can keep at bay with just cleaning the glass daily.
Must be low phosphate/phosphorous? IDK haven't tested that yet, looking for good test for that. Any Recommendations?
I had 2 fish die this summer, pretty sure that was due to my Blue Hippo Tang.
He/She is aggressive and won't let the other fish eat until she's eaten first.
Lost that really cool looking Orangeback Basslet and lawnmower blenny.
Planning on getting the 120 set up very soon, might just use a 40 breeder for sump and not even get a sump kit run it full open flow.??
Thinking of getting something larger that will chill the blue hippo tang out a bit, maybe a foxface?

40b sump kits are easy and cheap, proven. Id look into them.

As for the blue hippo, i would try a mirror for now. And perhaps stock the new tank before introducing the jerk.

It's been decided. I will get a FijiCube sump kit!
