4.5 month update on the tank. I feel my fish stocking is complete, but I would like to have some more. I feel it’s someone under-loaded. My stocking list is

Powder Blue Tang
Yellow Tang
Kole Tang
Two royal grammas
Two ocellaria clown fish
One lyretail anthias

What else would anyone recommend?

Tank has been going well. I’m still puzzled by the purple/red coralline on rock which I have been told is not coralline, but it can't be blown off, or scrubbed off. However it does have a somewhat Slimey feel. I’m ok with it as long as it’s not hurting anything.

My phosphates have been controlled around 0.06-0.09, and nitrates between 5-10. I can’t get my Chaeto to grow much for anything.

I’ve been trying a small Injection of Red Sea trace colors program to see if it’ll have affect on my sps and corals colors. Could be a coincidence but my clam has been looking very nice lately.

My current tank has the first Midas Blenny I ever owned and it is an amazing fish. Great personality. In the wild they will often hide out in schools of Anthias. You only have one, but i bet they pal around. Mine pals around with an A. bicinctus

Those do look cool. I want a nice fish that was also functional in a way. I was thinking a Yellow Coris wrasse because it might help with controlling the over population of vermetid snails. Of even a copperband butterfly, but hear they are a pain to keep and make happy. But, also need something like that but wont touch my clam.

Some updates to the tank. The grow bulb I was experimenting with earlier now in this build just wouldn’t grow my chaeto for anything. I upgraded to this 100w grow bulb, and swear I’m finally seeing some chaeto growth.

Also upgraded my 5 gal ATO to this 10 gal food grade container from amazon. Not bad for $35

Some pictures and updates. Yellow wrasse finally came out and photo bombed my clam picture. I’ve always had this red lobo in the sand but moved it up to the rock to free up some real estate (kind of like it in the rocks, hope he does). And some group fish shots.

Beautiful tank you have, I am looking at the SCA 112g myself. How much reef saver rock did you order and end up using approximately? I dig the aquascape a lot.

Thanks. When I bought the reef saver rock, I bought about 90 lbs, 75 lbs of it was regular rock, and 15 lbs of shelf rock. I think Used a couple of pieces from my old tank also, but not much. My tank I ended up with was the 94 gal, same dimension as as the 112 but 4" shorter.

Haven’t posted an update on the tank now, 10 months In. Theres been a few up and downs but nothing major. My only corals I struggle with most is gonioporas. I buy them beautiful from lfs, bring them home and they extend for a few weeks then eventually close up. They don’t die , but never extend. There’s a purple and green on the right and basically just a giniooora skin with tiny flower showing but never extend. Been like this for months. I really wish I can get those open again because gonis are so animated for tanks

Finally added some T5 to supplement my 4 ai primes, I just wasn’t getting sps growth so I’m trying this. My fixture is along the back which is basically right over my rock work (sps row). I have a blue+ and coral + combo on during peak hours and running basically an AB+ schedule on my AI primes. Hope to post pictures in a few months of growth finally
