since your running the stock light what do you have your timer set to for hours. I have mine currently running 8-9 hours. Not sure if I should run it longer?
I was running 9am to 9pm on a timer and didn't have any problems.

I'm now using the ai prime 16hd light.

Thank you. I'm gonna upgrade eventually but for now sticking to the stock light. I like having the lid to cut down on evaporation but the rimless does look nice

I liked it too. And my corals seemed ok. I don't hate the stock light as much as others seemed to. I actually liked it!

And there's a huge difference in evaporation when removing the lid.

Quick little update..

A local reefer is selling off his stuff and I picked up a frag of bam bam zoas and a frag of utter chaos zoas.

Both open and acclimating on the sand bed.

Mushroom corals are my favorite.

I've had this guy since Dec 24, 2021. So about a month and a half.

It's fascinating watching him eat. Here he is eating reef roids today. I watched him the whole time and he got all of it in his mouth.

How long does it take mushrooms to reproduce? I really would love a colony of these guys.

Thanks!

Picked up some new corals from a local reefer. Got a great deal!

Got a rainbow bubble tip anemone, a green mushroom and 2 red mushrooms (anyone know the name of these?), a blast, a frogspawn, and 2 types of zoas (id anyone?)

The first are meletti blastos. Very nice. I have thos in two different colors and they grow fast. The last is a toxic frogspawn. Nice one too. Mine has grown nicely too.

Others are nice variety of shrooms, zoas are watermellon maybe or eagle eyes. Who knows. palys, and bubble tip. Good score!

Thanks for the id's!

Never heard of toxic frogspawn. I thought it didn't look extended. Maybe that's just a different variety? Going to do some research.

Oh, the toxic is just a reference to the color?

yes! I have similar color and when I got them the jperson called them toxic frogspawn. I do not see many with those dark tentacles and bright tips. Mine has almost blackish tentacles and bright green tips.

Tank is going smooth.

Placed my candy canes and frogspawn up in the rocks.

Here's a current full tank shot and some macro shots.

Guys!

I'm the proud daddy of a new baby red mushroom. My first mushroom split.

It's the little one in the middle.

20220327_191808.jpg

Almost everything is thriving.

The mushrooms are splitting
The zoas are growing off frag plugs onto the rocks
The bta look happy and are growing
The candy cane heads look to be in the process of splitting

My gsp is happy and extended but will not grow at all.
